I started Before You Build because I saw how difficult it can be for homeowners and small business owners to evaluate contractor proposals with confidence.

Most people don't review construction scopes, pricing breakdowns, allowances, and exclusions every day. When bids come in, it can be hard to tell what's included, what's missing, and whether you're comparing apples to apples.

I've spent more than a decade in construction project management, helping deliver projects across Michigan, California, and Texas, ranging from small office renovations to commercial and industrial projects valued above $100 million. My career has been reviewing scopes of work, managing costs, coordinating trades, negotiating changes, and finding issues before they become expensive problems.

I've also spent plenty of time helping friends and family navigate their own projects: everything from remodels and repairs to new small business ventures. Those conversations often start with the same questions: Is this proposal complete? Is this price reasonable? What questions should I be asking before I sign?

That's what led me to create Before You Build.

My goal is simple: help owners better understand what they're buying before they commit. Whether you're comparing bids, trying to find qualified contractors, or looking for ways to reduce cost, I provide an independent second opinion to help you make a more informed decision.
